Seminar Descriptions

Ethics Seminar:

Attorney John R. Logan, former Chair of the Ethics Committee, will discuss the ethical rules in an interactive session that focuses on technology in practice, social media, and best practices.

Family Law Seminar:

            J. Kenneth Nowell, Certified Public Accountant, will review the implications of the new tax law on divorce practice as well as on business practice.  Additionally, Attorney Steven Levy, Chair of the LCBA Family Law Section, will present on the topic of parent coordination as an alternative to litigating contested custody, visitation and other child related issues.

Personal Injury Seminar

Attorney Ryan Henry, LCBA Secretary, will discuss the nuts and bolts of personal injury litigation from start to finish, giving a practical overview of the process and discussing the applicable standards and law. A great seminar for attorneys who do some personal injury work, but who do not focus their practice primarily on this area of law, as well as for the seasoned personal injury attorney.

Evidence Seminar:

Supervisory Assistant State’s Attorney Devin T. Stilson and Attorney Robert Salerno, co-chairs of the LCBA Criminal Law Section, will discuss the recent changes to the rules of evidence and the use of social media as evidence in trial and motion practice.

CLE Credit: In order to obtain CLE credit, you must sign in and sign out of each session you attend, noting the time of arrival and departure.  Certificates of completion will be emailed to attendees for each session.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL SEMINAR MATERIALS WILL BE EMAILED TO ATTENDEES IN ADVANCE – MATERIALS WILL NOT BE HANDED OUT AT THE SEMINAR.  THEREFORE, PROVIDING YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS IS ESSENTIAL.
